The "Spirit of Igor" is S-39-B, s/n 912. The airplane was restored from pieces of s/n 912 recovered from the Alaskan bush along with portions of 4 other S-39's (s/n 911, 916, 918 and 920.) The aircraft was painted to resemble Osa and Martion Johnson's S-39-CS "Spirit of Africa." The Johnson's oil cooler modification was included and modern avionics were added to the cockpit.
